Veterans Serving Veterans, Families, and the Cherokee County Community

For more than a century, Thomas M. Brady Post 45 has brought veterans together through service, fellowship, and a shared commitment to our community.

Chartered in 1919 by fifteen World War I veterans, Post 45 proudly welcomes eligible veterans from every branch and era of the United States Armed Forces.

Our service does not end when the uniform comes off.

Together with our American Legion Family—the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion—we serve veterans and their families, support our community, invest in our youth, honor those who came before us, and carry the values of service and citizenship forward to the next generation.

OUR MISSION IN ACTION

The mission of Thomas M. Brady Post 45 is guided by the Four Pillars of The American Legion.

VETERANS AFFAIRS & REHABILITATION

We stand beside our fellow veterans by helping connect them with resources and benefits, assisting veterans and families in need, supporting homeless and at-risk veterans, and ensuring those who served our nation are never forgotten.

NATIONAL SECURITY

We honor and support those who protect our nation and our communities, including our active-duty military, National Guard and Reserve members, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders.

AMERICANISM

We promote patriotism, responsible citizenship, respect for our nation's history and symbols, and an understanding of the responsibilities that come with the freedoms generations of Americans have defended.

CHILDREN & YOUTH

We invest in the next generation through youth programs, recognition, mentorship, scholarships, JROTC and Scouting support, and partnerships with schools and organizations throughout our community.

SERVING CHEROKEE COUNTY

For more than 100 years, service has connected Post 45 to the Cherokee County community.

Today, our members continue that tradition by assisting veterans, supporting local first responders, working with young people, participating in community events, supporting veterans in need, and continuing our longstanding involvement with the Cherokee County Fair.

Some of our work happens at large community events. Some happens quietly—one veteran, one family, or one neighbor at a time.

All of it is service.

Thomas M. Brady Post 45 is strengthened by the members of our entire American Legion Family.

Together, members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion bring their experiences, talents, and commitment to a common purpose: serving veterans, strengthening families, and making our community a better place.

We also value the relationships we have built with local businesses, schools, civic organizations, first responders, and community partners who work alongside us throughout the year.
